ABOUT ME

I'm pretty friendly unless you're Rick Santorum, but I have an open mind and am down for a lot.

I was born and bred in the Midwest, but my family is from Laos. I spent three years worrying too much about school and my grades but have always loved traveling, and now I'm ready to see new places and have a good time.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mostly looking to find some cool couches to sleep on and some friendly people to hang out with when I'm traveling. I can also show you around Chicago and love helping others get around the city or have a good time.

None yet, but am hoping to fill this one out soon!

Eating, drinking and watching films. If these things happen together, I'm usually very happy.

I interned at a city magazine that reviewed restaurant and bars, so I'm really interested in food. I don't consider myself a foodie. I just like to eat good food. I also like drinking craft beer, and someday when I have more time I'd like to start homebrewing.

I go to an amazing liberal arts college focused on media arts. At the end of each year we throw a major urban arts festival in the South Loop of Chicago. It's always amazing to see what my classmates have been working on. I literally get goosebumps thinking about how talented some of my friends are.

I live with a filmmaker, three writers and a photographer. Most of my close friends are in some sort of art, from graphic design to urban teaching. I love to learn from them, and hopefully they've learned about current events, journalism, writing and publishing from me.

So I'd like to say I have a "wealth" of knowledge, but really, I just know a little about a lot.
