Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was introduced to CS when I met a traveler on Tioman Island (Malaysia) who was returning to Kuala Lampur for the weekly CS meetup. He asked his host, A.J., if I could stay with him. I stayed with A.J. for 7 weeks, becoming his 'co-host,' using his home in KL as a base to explore Malaysia with visiting couchsurfers, as well as participating in other CS events like the weekly dinners and a trip to Gabai Waterfall. I was also hosted by other members of the KL CS community a few times, such as when I stayed with a Muslim family for Hari Raya, helping prepare the house and grounds for dinners and social gatherings of relatives visiting from all over Malaysia.
Interests
I enjoy gardening, reading too many books, and walking in nature. I like exploring by night or day, camping, and playing pick-up hockey.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite book is Spartacus by Howard Fast, favorite movie is Ghandi with Ben Kingsley, and favorite song right now is Am I Wrong by Nico and Vinz.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I attained a university degree and worked up travel money while managing mental illness. Traveling is curing the mental illness though, so hopefully I will transcend that too.
