ABOUT ME

I teach reading and study philosophy and Buddhism. I wrote and taught analytic Philosophy at UAB, including metaphysics and epistemology; I also taught research ethics. Prior to that, I was a Ph.D. research chemist.
I am a Sivananda yoga instructor, and am currently learning in the tradition of Yogi Bhajan at Birmingham Yoga. I study Buddhism at Losel Maitri and Birmingham Shambhala Meditation Center.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I developed video teaching materials for social justice issues; I help Pledge, a Birmingham non-profit, with teaching materials on race and ethnicity. I offer a couch when things are less hectic.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I traveled and have couchsurfed minimally. I enormously enjoy hearing the experiences of couchsurfers!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taught adults to read, calmed babies at Children's Hospital, saw the harvest moon and Huangshan, or the yellow mountains, listened to Buddhist monks.
