Hiya! My name is Sam Sam Chua. My friends normally call me Sam for ease of reference!

A brief introduction of mine, I was born and raised in Malaysia, a tropical, multicultural country with good food! I had the opportunity to study abroad in the UK, and eventually got a job and worked there for two years.

I am kinda an individualist. I like solo traveling. I like sports. I like reading. I like cooking. I am really outgoing, sporty, and spontaneous. I like to talk to people from different background and listen to their side of their stories.

I am very spontaneous and crazy. I am up to anything as long as not water sports I cannot swim 😅

Initially it was because I wanted to be hosted so I chose to host people first.

Then now it’s more like I want to be a real traveler, not a tourist. I want to know your culture, to know your lifestyle and to learn from you! (I believe everyone has something to offer and that’s what makes us special and a better human being :)!)

My all time favourite movie is Titanic. Maybe romance is part of my DNA (jokesss)

Books: I like spiritual reads. Must read is 'I maybe wrong' and 'Tuesday with Morrie'.
I especially like the line in 'Tuesday in Morrie'- if your culture is wrong, you have to be strong enough to change it.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I can list a lot. On the top of my list would be I left everything behind and moved to the UK on my own from Malaysia. I knew nobody there and I made it. And I left the country and never looked back.

When it was about to leave, I sold everything in the uk and I only have one 40l backpack and one box (of memory) to ship back to Malaysia. 🤣

2nd: traveling through central and South America purely on land transport; never used commercial shuttle solely collectivo :)

Rode a 150cc motorbike on opposite land first time in three years (Malaysia is right hand side) and then fell down three times.. once in a steep mountain (crashed on me completely) and twice in highway. Rode nearly 300km in four days….

Sent myself to ICU the second I landed in Morocco

Dealt with military and police

Spontaneous overnight hike in one active volcano with two Americans and eventually squeezed in their 2person tent 😅

Ongoing…. I am going to do a 1000km trail in Australia by myself this year…

Only solo travel for three years by now
