Overview
About Me
Wannabe wayfarer from hippie haven of Guelph, Ontario. Improvisational living is my modus-operandi. I am pointless without interesting and engaging people around me, who help widen my world view and challenge me to continually change. My friends call me "Slim". Material things are pretty cool, but are usually fleeting and empty. It is better to live in good ideas and good company than in the mundane!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To build a network of interesting and open-hearted friends while gathering a little salt on the road.
Interests
I am interested in the human condition of the 21st century, especially in North America. I like to read and write and express myself through a variety of media, hopefully someday I can make a profession out of it. I am an amateur radio jockey and love messing about with soundboards and production equipment.
I make a little bit of electronic music too, I prefer analog equipment to computer interfaces though. While computer software is nifty, it lacks the intimacy and unpredictability of hardware that allows a more hepatic, organic feel.
I am currently studying for a baccalaureate in international development. I think with cooperation and reevaluation of societies systems and interactions we can make the world a better place for those who live in situations where want is most keenly felt.
I was put on this earth to give, I reckon, but haven't 100% figured out how yet!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like spaghetti westerns, Japanese body horror, and jim jarmusch-style crap. I am musically inclined towards blues, experimental music, post-rock, electronic music of all sorts, reggae dub, and black/death metal. My favourite musician is Tom Waits. My favourite author is Albert Camus. My favourite book is "The Sorrow of War" by Bao Ninh, but this has recently become tied with "One Hundred Years of Solitude" by Gabriel Garcia Marquess. Ponderous, lonesome, and distant love stories are my favourite because of their bitter sweet qualities.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
volunteered with a family friend for a literacy initiative in inner-city Kingston, JA.
