About Me

I've been living in the Dayton/Cincinnati area for about the last four years. It was quite a cultural adjustment. Right now, the weather's been changing every week and the colors look very vivid. The air is sharp and crisp. The feeling of change hangs in the air. Riding through the Ohio countryside the world looks big and wide open. It's a great time of year to take a hayride or visit an apple orchard and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. I've also been trying to remind myself to participate in the world that's around me. The only way to be able to take in all of the sights and smells of the local park is to set your worries aside and take a short detour once in a while.

I enjoy food and wine, cooking and baking, learning and playing music, and attending small concerts. Big advocate for continuing education and self directed courses of study.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

10/18/2022

I may be planning a move back out to the West Coast in 2023 so I've been searching for some perspective about what may be coming next. I'd like to be in a place where I can really join a community and feel more connected to the world around me. I think that Couch Surfing could be an excellent resource for making some contacts in places that I'd like to see and check out. I'd also like to make some connections in Boston and Chicago as these are great American cities that I'd like to visit.

I feel like I'm on this service because I'd like to be able to connect with people that have similar ideas and interests. These days the world feels very small to me and I'd like to be able to broaden my horizons.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rented a bicycle through a hostel in San Diego and then proceeded to bike through every part of the downtown area and did it all in one day. There's nothing like traveling on Amtrak especially the trip up to Santa Barbara on the Pacific Coastliner. Hiking through the Santa Monica mountains is a wonderful and freeing escape.

Teach, Learn, Share

The key to life isn't to hope that disaster will never befall you. The key is to be adaptable enough that when disaster strikes that you feel prepared for whatever might come your way.

Don't wait for it to come to you, it's up to you to come to it. Don't wait for the answers because the answers only come from within.

Kindness, Kindness, and more Kindness.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm trustworthy and honest, treat people the way that I would like to be treated, and believe in human redemption and general goodness of all mankind. Sometimes it's nice just to be able to take a trip into town and find a seat by the window of a local cafe.
