ABOUT US

We're Samuel & Sophie living in Montreal when we're not travelling.

Samuel: 5 years ago, I had the chance to bike across Europe for 6 months and since this moment, I want to be an adventurer. Pandemic and visa issue slowed me down but I'm taking every little chance I have to leave the city for an expedition: cycling in north of Canada, winter camping expedition, long hiking, kayaking the Saguenay... In my daily life, I'm training a lot (triathlon, climbing) and enjoy cooking, photography and music. Rest of the time, I'm a manager in the financial industry and a lecturer in product management and data governance at a university. In the next few years, I want to start doing long expeditions such as crossing Greenland, Cross the Atlantic with sail boat and alpinism... And vagabonding the world with my Loved One.

Sophie: I'm the Loved One in question. We got together during the pandemic over a camping trip and since then, Samuel has wanted to bring me everywhere (I often complain about it but I enjoy it). I'm a bit less adventurous but I enjoy being in nature a lot. I love to learn about plants, animals, natural phenomenon. I love gardening and cooking. Rest of time, I'm chill, enjoying reading and having my personal time as an introvert. When I have to work, I'm an advisor in design thinking and customer experience in financial industry.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had the chance to host in 2012 and I loved this experience. Since then, I alternate period I can host and/or surf. We plan to start hosting together for the first time. It will be Sophie's first experience with CS.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met amazing people thanks to CS and I want to continue. We need more community like this for a more sharing world !

Movies : Comedy, action, Science Fiction (Star Wars, Soylent Green, District 9...), a bit of cartoons (Disney, Pixar ) and movies based on real facts ( into the wild, a beautiful mind, Dunkirk...)

Music : A little bit of everything with a special taste currently for jazz and electro.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2012 : I spent 36h outside without sleeping, walking and visiting NYC...

2016-2019: creating a company that try to contribute to make a better world...

2018 : travelling around Europe with my bike during 6 months... It’s just bigger than me, an amazing adventure you may be part of ;).

2021: I met an amazing girl and we're doing winter camping together and nice trips in North America.

We love to discuss with people about the way they saw life, their dreams and how they plan to achieve it !

We can also give good advices about how to plan a long trip and how to plan an outdoor expedition.
