About Me
Hi!
Born and raised in Sweden in an Orthodox Christian family. Lived in England right after high school and Ireland later on, all of which has shaped me a lot. I've also been influenced by people from various countries who've been close to me and litterature I've explored.
Main interests are culture (reading, writing, singing, exploring art or going to events), nature, cooking and enjoying food, going for long rural or urban walks, meeting people and talk about everything. I'm curios, like to learn and value both humouros and serious topics.
I'm a mix between extrovert and introvert. Like charging my batteries in quiet places such as forests, parks or museums. Every now and the I enjoy livelier and more exciting places, such as theatre and live gigs. Also enjoy hanging out with old and new acquaintances.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I quit my job and apartment, wanting to go abroad again after a long time in Sweden. Looking to travel around Europe for a bit until I find a place where I feel at home.
Music, Movies, and Books
Like lots of music from different cultures, eras and styles. Just to name a few; Bossa Nova, French chanson or the equivalent from Sweden and other countries, classical (Bach, Vivaldi, modern instrumental such as Ludovico Einaudi), rock/pop (Johnny Cash, Springsteen, Oasis, Sting), metal and anything that makes me want to dance, smile or matches my emotion at the time.
Read a lot of classics, primarily the Russian ones (Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Gogol, Pushkin, Chekhov etc) but also French (Hugo, Zola, Flaubert) and anglophone (Dickens, Poe, Conan Doyle, Hawthorn). Also a huge fan of Tintin for the adventures humour, aesthetics and wholesome values.
Don't watch that many movies nowadays but enjoy international independent films with quirky bittersweet humour (In Bruges), action/drama (Heat) some silly action blockbusters (Jason Statham), classics and TV-series (Columbo, Seinfeld).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm a regular person with imperfections I can improve but I'm glad to have had the instinct to intervene and help vulnerable people in need.
