Have you ever watched a movie just cause it was on and did not seem that interesting but by the end of the movie it turned into one of the best movies you've ever watched? Well, I guess knowing me is a similar process. At first I might blend into the crowd but with every passing minute, I separate myself. I love humor and positive vibes but I have an ear for the opposite too.

I love conversations. I love telling stories but I am an avid reader and listener. I love listening to people talk. I love any and every topic; as my best friend says, "Sandeep can have a conversation with a tree if he had to." I am very proud and boastful about the kind of friends I have in my life. Growing up in two countries, and having people from multiple cultures and faith as some of my closest friends has made me very open to embracing everything, and everyone, that comes my way.

I grew up in India, came to the U.S. to do my Master's in Computer Science (I know, cliche). I finished my school and started working for FIU. That is what I "had" to do. But working at a university gave me a wonderful opportunity to pursue what I "want" to do, write! I'm currently finishing my second Master's in Journalism and Mass Communications.

I love talking, and I know I would go on and on here, but then I would want to leave something to be known in person too. I love Miami and have lived here for the past 8 years. If you want to know about the non-touristy places to visit--like the amazing bookstores and coffee places which wont make it to the most recommended places of Miami--then I am the person you are looking for.

Why not? If you are here, reading this, you already know how amazing of a resource this is. I personally don't think that one need any reason other than the fact that Couchsurfing exists, to be a part of it. I love to travel to places where my friends live and can suggest/show me around, but of course we cant have people like that in every place. I would like to be that person for someone coming to my city and would love someone to be that person for me in their's.

Musica, film e libri

I started listening to Mumford and Sons before they were mainstream. The Avett Brothers, Fleet Foxes, Of Monster and Men, The Head and t Heart, Local Natives and Two Door Cinema Club are some of my favorite bands.

Fiction, magical realism, poetry, astronomy and cosmos, are some areas I constantly read from. The Kite Runner, The Alchemist, The Little Prince, Demian,
To Kill A Mocking Bird, Hind Swaraj, 100 years of Solitude, Brave New World, The Count of Monte Cristo, 1984, Poetry of Paulo Cohelo and some of my favorite books.

I just love movies but it will be too hard to name all my favorites. Million Dollar Baby, Big Fish, 500 Days of Summer, V for Vendetta, Garden State, and A Beautiful Mind to name a few.

Favorite Series-Star Wars, LOTR and Matrix.

Favorite TV Series - LOST, The West Wing, The Newsroom, Scrubs, GoT and Fringe.

Spent four days and nights paddling and sleeping in a canoe in the heart of the Everglades. Used the wilderness as a muse to write.

Went on an adventure inside Wayne National Forest to find and climb the fire tower, and later ventured into an old abandoned graveyard in middle of the night!

Not sure which one to pick, but they both are away above my skydiving and deeper than my scuba diving experiences.

People who know me know that I love to draw from my experiences, and readings, to throw in random/not so random facts throughout my conversations. I don't think you would want to learn any tech stuff from me. I can teach you a lot about India and the U.S., and cooking of course. My knowledge from all the books I read. I love getting lost in deep conversations about mysteries of life.

They say the best thing about Miami is that it is so close to the United States. I can share my knowledge about how to embrace the culture of Miami and get the best out of it. The know-how's of navigating this diverse and often misunderstood city.

Share with you the locations and hangout spots which are not mainstream but still as much fun based on your interest. Knowledge about arguably the best and cheap Latin food places in and around Miami. Bookstores, coffee spots, art galleries and the vast and immersive everglades. If you want to find spots to star gazing, then you met the right person? Go on a night time hike in one of the most amazing national parks of South Florida? yes, sir!

I want to learn great many things about people I meet and places they come from. Their culture, their folklore and food. And anything they find worth sharing. As I said, I am a great listener.

I can share my experiences growing up in two different and opposite cultures and how I made a bridge between them. I can tell you a lot about my personal thoughts on life and philosophy, which I gained from talking to some very interesting people, and the visions I received in my sleep (jk on that one).
