About Me

About me.

Hello everyone !! Bonjour à tous !! Hola !!

My name is Sandra I'm 25 and I am French. I lived a lot in foreign countries for my work as I teach French in foreign countries. I lived in Wales, Scotland and travelled all around Europe: Germany, Belgium, the NL, Finland, Estonia, Ireland, etc.
But now I currenty live in Canada in CHarlottetwn on PEI. I found a 1 year contract to be a lecturer at UPEI and really enjoy my work.

I think you guessed that I love to travel and explore! Which is why I will be heading to Mexico in April going through Toronto, Houston and Montreal on my way :)
I will be visiting uch more from July onwards as I would like to do some workaway.

I also like to walk, to run, to exercise and to feel alive. One of my dream is to climb all the Munroes (mountains) in Scotland, which became my spiritual home.

I am a vegan too, it's my 2nd year as a vegan and I love it. Although don't worry I'm not judgy or whatnot, everybody do things their own way :)

Also also, I love to learn new languages and culture (I think most language teachers do) I am still learning Spanish (intermediate) and Dutch (beginner). I hope some day to master German and Japanese as well as both my best friends are respectively German and Japanese.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to meet people while travelling and especially meet like-minded people and share our experience and adventues or travel. I hope someday when I'll stop moving from country to country to host people as well so they can tell me all about them.

As a teacher my life philosophy is that every opportunity to learn from another being enriched yourself. They are so much we can learn from each other! I would like to hare with you my experience and joie de vivre :)

Filmwise; everything with is sci-fi : Terminator, the matrix, planet of the apes, etc and Fantasy like LoR, Gataca and also comedy like Idiocrasy and all the Louis de Funes

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went for a hike on the Island of Arran in Scotland one day I was going alone for the thrill of the adventure. I had carefully planned my route but suddenly I felt the need to follow another trail which i did for the sake of adventure. I found myself completly lost in a huge sheep field, so huge I couldn"t see any building or farm or trail , only sheep for horizon. The sun lower itself in the sky and I knew I ony had 3h max until the last ferry back home so I crossed all the field and finally reached the end however I had to walk along an old and very steep cliff -path to go back.
I knew only one unasured footstep and I would fall onto the sharp rocks in the sea to sleep with the fish.
I stayed focussed and stopped from time to time catching my breath and taking picture of the breathtaking (literally haha) views I know only a fex people had seen before me.

I made it safe and sound and I never felt more a live than in that instant where it was only me versus life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach French (I'm native from France) and I can speak English and Spanish though I need to practice my Spanish much more. I also learn Dutch but I found myself at loss of people to speak Dutch or teach it to me here in Canada.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would like to share with you my views of the worlds, what I have een and done, my personal experience of life and to learn from yours as well !
