Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have never been the very outgoing type, but times are changing! I like to see more of the world around me, and I know that I prefer to spend my free time with people, rather then just with myself. I was introduced to couchsurfing Summer 2018 and I decided to make my own profile and start hosting too.

I strongly believe that we will connect here if we have something to share or add to each others experience. Let's find out what that is, right?

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite music: Spotify is my best friend during the day and night! I invite you to share your favorite music with me. My music preference all depends on my mood and activity.
I love to listen to (Dutch) rap and hip-hop music foremost; Nas, Jay-Z, Typhoon, Sticks and Rico and so on.
Ed Sheeran, Lianne La Havas, Jessie J or Dub FX when I am creating things.
Singing along with old Motown Hits!
And I will never turn down a good Dubstep, Drum and Bass or Techno party.

Apparently I have a bad taste when it comes down to movies haha. I can watch Love Actually all year round, but definitely once in December. Ps I love you, the Ugly Truth, Sweet Home Alabama, Magic Mike, you get it? I try browsing Netflix for those great movies, but I just prefer to lay back and dive into a so-so script with fun actors to watch.

Books! I dream of displaying them in my livingroom, sorted either by alphabetic order or color. Did I mention a minor OCD already? I love to read books, the ones you can hold in your hands, the ones made of paper. I just can't get used to e-books myself, do you?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Back in 2008 I was playing online videogames a lot and through the Playstation Network I met awesome people. So I decided to fly out to the UK and later that year to the USA to actually meet up with the friends I made online. To me travelling is not that much to see features of that country but to spend time with the people I know through online contact.

So saving up some money, book a plane ticket (or take my car Lola for a roadtrip) and just fly out to a country far away and meet more sweet loving spirits is on my bucketlist.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would enjoy sharing a yoga practice with you if you are interested in that. Extra yoga mats available so even if you never tried it before just give it a go.

I enjoy listening to your traveling stories, where you are heading and where you came from. I will return the favor too!

I can teach you a thing or 2 about wool spinning, crafts (sewing, knitting, crocheting, crossstitching) but if needles scare you i guess we can also have a drink and chat ;-)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to show my gratitude by helping you cook, doing the dishes and having a conversation over tea, coffee, wine or a beer. And did I mention I like to bake cakes, cookies or pies for you?
