I was born in Switzerland but grew up in Australia. I've been living and teaching in Geneva for 9 years and am now moving into education for refugees. I'm insatiably curious, and as a result I feel like I'm an amateur in a lot of things, and an expert in nothing!

I've realised that my most enjoyable travel experiences have to do with the people I meet, especially the locals. I'm not sure why I haven't joined actively sooner!

Interessen

Other than travel? Food, art cinema, learning new dances, cycling, hiking, yoga, swimming, photography. Currently very interested in ancient Persian history. And I'd really like to learn Arabic.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Camping by the Kafue river in Zambia with a friend. At night the hippos would come out and walk around the tent. It was exhilarating! Well, the first night was slightly terrifying ;-) We stayed 5 days and by the end of our stay I had enormous respect for the wildlife around, thanks to the incredibly knowledgeable park rangers. It was a real lesson that fear diminishes into healthy respect when you understand how to behave around these wild animals. And I think the same can be applied to everything, including our fellow humans!
