I've had a lovely life, and can tell many stories about my experiences both in South Africa and abroad. First company I started was a photographic studio, and had only one main camera (and small backup, so I could do both black and white and colour at the same time!) Those were the days....
I had a motorbike, and would travel to and from work, and would beat any car...!
Started working on a racehorse stud farm, and then got a partner, and we started our own stud farm. He had a champion racehorse, and when the horse retired, he became our first Stud.
Gave that up after some 11 years, because I had a child! My son is now 26, and we have had a lot of fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like the idea of visiting people, or vice versa, love to show people around, and spoil them with the scenery of this country, or even a small local game reserve! Also enjoy meeting other interesting people, and lovely to exchange ideas, or discuss books, music or whatever interests them.

Interests

My mom was an opera singer, with the most beautiful voice... so brought up on that. My gran, who lived with us, was the most amazing piano player I met. She could read and play piano like I can read a magazine. Due to the classical music and singing, I am hooked for life!
Books are important, not only are they filled with information, but can transport you somewhere, wherever you want to be, or just follow the story and allow the author to create spells...
As a person with ADD/ADHD, I am interested in the subject, apart from which I coach people that are diagnosed with it, or have the symptoms (distraction, lack of focus, etc.)

Music, Movies, and Books

Classical, Opera, and even popular music (that's stood the test of time).
So many films that have moved or fascinated me, including Diva, The Whale Rider, and too many others to mention.
Books! Wow, everything from Birds to Cooking to Feng Shui, to biographies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was criticised for taking my son with me to San Diego when I was doing a course for over a month. He was 13, and had to spend every day on his own. It was a time of growth for him, and me, and I would do it again in a heart-beat.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to discuss human behaviour, and to learn more about people and how come they do certain things, what motivates them. Can also discuss the merits of certain psychologies, like cognitive behaviour therapy, and how they can help others in a positive way.
