About Me

Hi CS Community! It's good to be back. It's been a while since I've Couchsurfed or hosted, but I'm entering a new chapter in my life where I'm both taking a sabbatical from work and have moved into a new place in NYC after living in San Francisco for almost 9 years. I'm looking to host and find hosts for my travels over the next year and am excited to re-engage with this amazing community!

PHILOSOPHY

1) Lead with kindness and always share the last bite.
2) Say "YES", and figure out the details later

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm always grateful to the amazing hosts who are willing to let me join them for their adventures while I'm in their hometown. Even if you can't host me, if you'd be open to taking me out to explore or experience something local that you enjoy, I would be so grateful!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My best friend introduced me to Couchsurfing back in 2007 and it redefined traveling for me. I've met some amazing people during my travels and have gotten to know cities in ways I would have otherwise never experienced. I love seeing the world through the eyes of others and am always grateful for the opportunity to learn and immerse myself.

Interests

I'm a very active person who enjoys doing as much outdoors as possible: hiking, walking, camping, surfing, skiing/snowboarding. And when not outdoors, you can find me doing yoga or cooking meals and hosting dinner for friends. I'm a big fan of activities and adventures: concerts, block parties, random city adventures, taking classes to learn something new, etc. The weirder the better.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC

I have a really diverse palette. My Spotify top artists and genres range from House/EDM, Classical, Indie, Rock, Rap, etc. I love going to live shows and discovering new artists by way of music festivals!

BOOKS

My literary taste is just as diverse as my taste in music. I love non-fiction, spiritual reads, and science-fiction.

Some of my favorites: Breath, Why We Sleep, Antifragile, The Alchemist, Three Body Problem, When Breath Becomes Air, Siddhartha, Autobiography of a Yogi, Many Lives Many Masters

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending 3 days on the indigenous islands of the Guna Yala tribe in Panama.

Getting robbed of EVERYTHING in Montezuma, Costa Rica and having the entire town engage in a search party for my bags (despite my pleas against it). I have NEVER experienced such a level of empathy and kindness. My heart exploded with gratitude.

Summiting Kilimanjaro!

And every time I head back to Black Rock City for Burning Man )'( <3
