I live like crazy, so I can live happily with this beautiful crazy world. I'm always in motion, except when I sit to meditate.
Hiker: the Bay area offers great hiking. I like to hike the coastal trail here, high on Mt. Tam looking at the Pacific, then hiking down to Stinson Beach. I'm within 30 minutes of Point Reyes, Mt. Tam, and Muir Woods. Am a Film lover personally & professionally. Foodie, good reason to be in SF. Like live music, rock, jazz, R&B, chamber music, hip hop. Vipassana meditation, exploring forests. Music nightclubs, art & tech museums, art installations, coffee houses. Learning stone sculpture (alabaster), Care deeply about Food and Health. What I eat: organic tasty, healthy food, preferably local.
Long-time writer about film and film production.
Very interested in world politics.
My personal philosophy is e a s y : I like to know people... passionate people, smart, with opinions (whatever they are), open-minded, curious, spontaneous, creative. Especially people who are passionate and are doing/have done something to create change in the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I enjoy hosting. I like meeting people. I'm an active member, host often, at meet-ups, and other CS events.
I joined CS as a host, and am overwhelmed by the dozens of truly great people who come to my door. I host often and dozens of couchsurfers have been to my home. Only one was borderline psycho and the rest are good to fantastic. Every host is lucky to make many excellent friends. A few CS stayed here over a few years 2 or 3 times.
Where else in life can you find that?
(so very many) Exploring history in the architecture of a city, meeting people, sharing culture. Exploring nature. Hiking. Meditation. Arts. Language. Music. Drama. International Relations. Fitness, Books. Technology, and Travel.
Music, Movies, and Books
My tastes are so wide, I don't want to exclude some to favor others. In music, I listen to rock-rhythm & blues-Brazilian-West African. The only genre I avoid is country, really avoid.
I've worked in the film industry, so it's too hard to pick favorite directors. Many.
Books, my library is full.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hang-gliding off a La Jolla cliff and soaring over the Pacific Ocean, ending with a soft landing in the sand on my feet.
Teach, Learn, Share
I share a love for hiking through forests, redwoods, mountains. In the city of SF, I can lead anyone to unforgettable walks. Let's discuss film, world events, art, and music. Let me be a guide through the food and street music jungle that SF offers.
I want to learn whatever you have to teach me. I'm a foodie, if you want to cook in my kitchen, I like to cook, also.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I hope to meet people who enjoy hiking, and seeing nature. I'd love to help someone get started on a stone sculpture, or to build a clay model for a casting. My interests begin there, but let's talk!.
