ABOUT ME
Hi there! My name is Sanne Smulders and I'm from the Netherlands where I live in the beautiful city of Utrecht. With my boyfriend Jeroen Lugtigheid and our cat Manuel Calavera (Manny to his friends) I am quite happy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been participating in CS since 2007 but always with my boyfriend Jeroen on the same CS account. You can look up al our experience and references for the past years here: www.couchsurfing.org/people/yurp/
At a certain point I decided to go to Thailand by myself so I needed my own account.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I love the way CS gives an insight in the lives, cultures and ways of thinking of other people and offers the chance to be part of this for a little while. We can learn a lot from each other by being interested in more than our own little world.
Since I have been a part of the CS community I met some amazing people and had likewise experiences. I made some really good friends al over the world whom I like to visit regularly when I can. Me and Jeroen have been Couchsurfing in Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic, France, Canada and the USA. We also hosted loads of wonderful people from more countries than I can name here.
Interests
In my spare time I like to tend to and ride my two horse's. They are from a special Icelandic breed which makes these horses different from other breeds. I'm also very interested in interior and furniture design and I love art, antiques, architecture and history.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Meeting some great friends trough couchsurfing. For example, going to couchsurf in 2008 in Prague with a lovely girl, Martina. We had such a great time that we vissited Martina a lot more throughout the years and became good friends. Jeroen and me even went to her wedding recently!
The USA eastcoast was great to. We've experienced so many crazy things there. In Philadephia we ended up staying in one of the most rundown ghetto's there is. Like the ones you see in the movies. In New York we met a banker and found ourselves in a penthouse facing wallstreet with an amazing rooftop terrace.
Now I am facing a new adventure, traveling Thailand alone. Hopefully I will be able to ad many things to this category when my trip is finished.
