About Me
A young woman trying to find my way in life. Currently having a year off, doing some extra studying, enjoying little things in everyday life.
I'm into many kind of things: culture, nature sciences, outdoor sports ect. I'm not a professional in anything but now a bit of a lot. ;-) Learning new things, which means more knowledge, is always cool!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was interrailing on April 2016 with my friend and got my first CS experiences - which were totally great! We met some cool and interesting people and were amazed by their hospitality and generosity and learned cool stuff about so many things.
Unfortunately I can't host at the moment while I'm still living at my parents' place, but I hope in the future it would be possible! It would be great to share my place after being hosted by such wonderful persons.
Interests
Music: I play the piano and sing (solo and in a choir), have been playing the drums/percussion and would like to start again some day. Folk/world music is especially meaningful for me, but I listen to many kind of music, classical to proggressive metal: composers/artists that combine different styles and genres interest me a lot!
Dance: Finnish folk dance has been my hobby since I was six, and I've also tried modern, hiphop and afro dance.
Reading, writing, theatre: I've always read a lot and that's why (hand)writing is for me the most natural way to express myself.
Nature, hiking, sailing, ice skating, skiing: being out in the nature makes me feel free and light. In the forest or by/at sea everything seems more simple and it's easier to breathe.
Vegetarian/vegan food, waste&item minimizing: trying to live in a way that makes both me and Mother Earth feel better.
Biology, human brain and mind, enviroment, mathematics: I wish I could combine all these and study that subject!
And yes, I truly like studying. Not getting good grades but the KNOWLEDGE.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music. Couldn't name one favourite artist or even a genre (I believe in good music, not in genres) but here are some examples: Valma&Varsinaiset, Kardemimmit, Jarkko Martikainen, Sting, Dire Straits, Edvard Grieg, Dream Theater, Lyy, Phil Collins, Eppu Normaali, PMMP, First Aid Kit, Scandinavian Music Group, Suzanne Vega, Rajaton, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Frigg, Aino Venna, Porcupine Tree, Paul Simon, Eagles...
Books. Half of my life as a kid, still a huge part of it. Reading is learning, feeling, adventures in different worlds.
Teach, Learn, Share
TEACH: If someone is interested in Finnish language, culture or folk music/dance, I could definitely share my knowledge of them!
LEARN: I would love to learn German better! I've studied it for 5 years but I'm not speaking it too fluently, though.
If you are interested in and know about folk music/dance of your home country, it would be super cool to learn something about it!
Local history is always interesting, especially small details and funny/surprising/dramatic/etc. little things.
