Resumen
Sobre mí
Hello! I've grown up in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras. I attended an American/international school where I had the privilege of being a member of a highly diverse student body--usually more than half my classmates were international!
After graduation I applied to universities in the United States and was offered a scholarship by Rotary International, which sponsored my education at a small, private liberal arts college in Atlanta called Oglethorpe University. This would be my third year in Atlanta, but I've taken the opportunity to 'study abroad' (but wait, I was already abroad!) in England for a bit. I've just finished a term at New College in Oxford and am looking forward to doing some travelling in Europe before heading back to the U.S. to continue my studies.
With regards to my future plans... Well, I've been studying environmental engineering for a while now, but during this last year I've given lots of thought to pursuing a career in architecture.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
So I remember hearing about Couchsurfing when I was in high school: one of my teachers was hosting a traveller from Korea who was biking from Mexico down to Chile. I was astonished by this person's boldness, needless to say, but was also impressed by the fact that something like couchsurfing existed.
In college some of my friends told me about their travel experiences and mentioned it again.
Learning about it encouraged me to try it out!
I think that it's great for both hosts and guests. It promotes cross-cultural understanding and creates opportunities for meeting different people :)
Intereses
Architecture, whether historical or modern! Art history, world history, Shakespeare literature, Latin American politics.
I play soccer and a bit of tennis, but don't watch sports that often.
Enjoy walks in urban and natural environments.

Algo increíble que he hecho
During my last year of high school I was a volunteer English teacher at a public school in Tegucigalpa. Me and a friend co-taught a class of about 25 third graders every Saturday morning for a few hours. Although there were certainly some mornings where I felt that I couldn't handle the job, overall it was a wonderful experience. I most enjoyed connecting with each individual student, and perhaps only for that reason I'd do it again.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
I'm a rather sociable person and take great pleasure in conversation! Is there a better way to learn and teach?
Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones
I'd love to share some of the richness of Honduran culture. Even though I've been living away from home for the last few years, I feel as though I haven't lost (and hopefully never will lose!) that part of my identity.
