Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting new people and watching the world become more connected and personal while listening to stories from all over the world

Interests

listening to people or to music, spending time with friends and family, reading a good book, playing music (mainly recorder, also flute and piano), sharing funny anecdotes, trying new recipes, hiking, collecting seeds and planting them on the windowsill and then later wondering what plant it might be, sending postcards, buying foreign food in and then going home to consult the internet on how to eat or cook it...
I also like turtles and tortoises :)

Music, Movies, and Books

There are many good books I've read and since then I'm not able to get out of my mind, so there isn't really a single favourite book... one of my favourite authors however is Terry Pratchett and I recently began reading Haruki Murakami.
Two movies I really enjoyed were "Cloud Atlas" and "Adam's Apples".
For music: soundtracks, kletzmer, radio and songs/bands/artists that are recommended to me, favourite songs vary with time and mood :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to exchange cooking recipes, basic sentences/ random words in new languages, common sayings of different cultures, favourite quotes, my favourite bookshops (if I'll find them again because my sense of orientation is somewhere near non-existent),...
I can also teach basics in recorder playing (as long as it's not in the middle of the night ^^) and am very curious to learn whatever you're willing to share!
