About Me

Irish girl travelling South East Asia for a year. I travel very slowly, started in Vietnam in January, worked for a few months teaching English, then moved down to Cambodia, worked in a bar for a few months, then Indonesia to travel around. Currently in Malaysia, and planning on going to Thailand next.
I finished my psychology degree in 2015, and worked in restaurants for a while to save up while I did my TEFL.
I love puns, bad jokes and general silliness. I'm fairly laid back and easy to get along with, and usually cheerful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm travelling solo at the moment, and I want to meet as many people as possible

Music, Movies, and Books

Cliche as it is, I like all music. I don't think one genre is better than any other, each has good and bad music. Currently I'm listening to a lot of Alt-J, John Butler, Fakear, Ben Howard and Daughter. I also like indie pop, folk, Irish, rock, cheesy music, hip hop and electronic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My proudest accomplishment was walking the Camino de Santiago in 2016. 980km of walking across Northern Spain in 5 weeks. I met amazing people, witnessed a whole month of sunrises, saw the back roads of Spain, slept under the stars, got lost, found my way again. Got countless blisters and mosquito bites, sang a lot, and drank a lot of sangria.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a ukulele with me and I love teaching people the basics. I also sing a lot (its my second favourite thing to do, after talking), so I love getting music sessions going. I play guitar, but don't have one with me, but I'm happy to teach that if theres one around.
Having worked as a English teacher, I'd be quite confident in my teaching ability. I'm trying to learn Bahasa, so I'd love to do a bit of language swap.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Mostly music, jokes, and positive energy. I like to work, so I'm happy to cook (wouldn't brag about my cooking skills, but they are adequate), clean, help with gardening and general housekeeping. I'm also really good with kids.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Egypt, England, France, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Morocco, Northern Ireland, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam, Wales
