Hey there! I'm Sara and I'm a Spanish major in the University of Turku, but I'm currently studying abroad in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. I spent a year in Chile as an exchange student in 2014-2015 so I learned to speak Spanish there and that’s also where I ultimately caught the travel bug.

I’d like to describe myself as an honest and free-spirited person. I enjoy spending time with others and I think everything in life is better when it's shared with amazing people. Just as much as I love having all kinds of conversations and sharing experiences with others, I love my own meditative time and enjoy my own company because it helps me to truly appreciate everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I wish to meet new people and make new friends while traveling and I couldn’t imagine a better way to do that than by staying with the locals. I currently can't host but I think it's a great way to be part of the traveling community when you yourself can't travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy literally all kinds of music from old Finnish classics to the latest Latin beats and I'm always open to discovering new music! ;) I’ve always loved reading but lately I’ve come to the realization that due to the increasingly hectic modern lifestyle I haven’t made enough time for it and my goal is to take the time to start reading again like I used to. I like watching movies but I’m not a huge movie buff and to me it’s mostly a way to rewind, though there are obviously movies I absolutely love and could watch over and over again!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travel. You learn so much about the world and yourself and you grow up in ways you never would if you just stayed home in your comfort zone.
