Overview
About Me
I think in general as people, we’re a mix of things. I’m an extroverted introvert (😉) passionate about people and the environment; a lover of food, music and community. I’m striving to live intentionally, authentically, and reflectively. I can be silly and goofy but also thrice on conversations with depth.
Right now, I'm living in Philadelphia. I moved here to get my Masters in Social Work and have since been working with adolescents and adults impacted by homicide and other forms of violence. It's intense work, but I feel really privileged to be trusted with people's stories.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Community and connecting to others are important to me! I love the idea of opening our doors and ourselves to new people. Unfortunately I don't currently have space to host, but I hope to in the future!
Interests
The outdoors (hiking, swimming, just being), good food (cooking and eating, of course), reading, music, singing, playing the guitar (even though my guitar skills leave something to be desired), social justice

Music, Movies, and Books
I am open to most music, but some current favorites are the Wailin' Jennys, May Erlewine, Gregory Allen Isakov, Lori McKenna, Band of Horses, Liz Longley, Nathaniel Rateliffe, Van Morrison, Eva Cassidy.. definitely a mix! I also enjoy some good merengue + bachata :)
Movies: always open to suggestions because I rarely sit down and watch a movie!
Books: Usually I'll just go to the library and wander until I find something that intrigues me, but I try to always be in the middle of something. I enjoy fiction, but with my career I'm often in the middle of various books about therapy/racism/psychology/trauma/growth.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent 6 months traveling in Bolivia and Argentina - I spent most of that time in amazement. Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia is other-worldly!
Teach, Learn, Share
I've been told I'm a good listener - not sure if that's something that is taught, but it can most definitely be "given." I also love talking about my experiences in social work, and I have a good deal of awareness about social justice issues (a topic I also love to learn about from another's perspective!). I'm a good cook, and I love to share food with others. I also enjoy singing and making music.
I'm always looking to improve my Spanish, and I have a lot of interest in the guitar. :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I've been told I have a positive, uplifting spirit. I'm open to people, and I love both hearing and sharing stories.
