About Me

Hi there :) My name is Sara, I am a veterinary surgeon studying Conservation Medicine. I am a very chill and at the same time ironically active person - always looking for things to do but with a relaxed mindset. I am cheerful, easy-going, curious, and very enthusiastic about random stuff. I love the outdoors (nature more specifically), sports (particularly trekking, skiing and diving), hiking, exploring, listening to people, exchanging ideas, singing, learning stuff... and especially travelling. I try to focus on the meaningful stuff in life and stay kind, open-minded and respectful. As a guest, I'm very quiet and can sleep on any floor (really). As I host, I will give you a local's insight and show you my favourite spots :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am in Couchsurfing to be able to both enjoy and contribute to a way of travelling which allows people with open minds to travel the world in an affordable way while meeting new people and cultures. I want to be able to travel places meeting the locals and allow others to do the same at my hometown :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love playing guitar and singing, seeing others perform and sing in different languages, and blasting music in the car

Books: Tracks (Robyn Davidson), The physician (Noah Gordon), The name of the wind (Patrick Rothfuss), My family and other animals (Gerald Durrell), In the shadow of man (Jane Goodall), Into the wild (Jon Krakauer).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A whole lot of random stuff but I've trekked to 5,400m in the Himalayas, dived in the great barrier reef, seen the northern lights in Norway, scuba-dived all over Indonesia, performed surgery on a cheetah, volunteered at a yoga and meditation retreat centre in the Austrian Alps, worked a ski season in the japanese alps, driven 8,000km across Japan, studied wildlife conservation in India and Nepal - to name a few!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am willing to learn about almost anything, literally. While travelling, I'd especially be interested in learning culture-related things, but whatever you're passionate about I'd love to hear. At the same time, I am willing to teach anything I know about.

What I Can Share with Hosts

To my potential hosts I offer friendly conversation about anything, random laughs, some music playing, spanish or english practice if wanted, company, and beyond all kindness and respect
