Overview
About Me
I've been a backpacker throughout the United States on and off for nearly a decade, and I've more recently started traveling internationally in earnest. I'm an artist who recently retired from the service industry and now I am trying to dedicate all my energies to traveling and creating art. I'm also a very big fan of music, with my preferences leaning towards heavy metal.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I made this account a long time ago, when I was first backpacking to and fro across the continental USA, but only just now am I finishing my profile and getting involved. I'm very interested in meeting respectful and interesting people, sharing with them, and I hope to be able to host these new friends later in the year when my partner and I settle down and open our own hostel somewhere in the tropics of the western hemisphere.
Music, Movies, and Books
"The Book of Flying" by Keith Miller, and most everything by Neil Gaiman. Also a huge fan of Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events.
I also like movies and binge-watching some series, but only in moderation.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitch-hiked from Florida to California when I was just twenty years old, and then joined the second-largest Occupy encampment in the United States.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love painting nights, and getting new people addicted to the healthy self-expression that is artistic endeavor.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My joyful personality, some great conversation, art, music, maybe some yummy and healthy food...
