About Me

I quit my job this summer to have time off, do what I really want and go travelling around Canada! I arrived in Vancouver late August, and most of my time here has been spent working on an off-grid farm on Cortes Island, milking cows, picking apples and chasing goats around.
I love hiking, skiing, camping and the Great Outdoors in general...
I spent an awesome 5 months working as a chalet host in Obergurgl, Austria, skiing nearly every day and learning to snowboard. I also spent a summer season in Tignes, France, doing all sorts of activities- hiking, mountain biking, canyoning, white-water rafting, highwire...
Before that, I lived in Australia for 2 years, working as an exploration geologist and travelling the west and east coasts.
I've always been attracted to Canada for the mountains and endless opportunities for outdoor activities. I'm here to explore new places, and hopefully work out what I really want to do with my life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am new to couchsurfing, but I love to meet new people, share in their lives and learn new things, so I hope this will be a much richer way to travel than just staying in hostels! I am a very sociable person and I really enjoy an evening of card games and a beer, or just talking.

Music, Movies, and Books

At the moment I am obsessed with London Grammar, but I like lots of music from electronic to reggae to stuff my parents listened to in the 70s.
I'm not a big movie person but I love a bit of Quentin Tarantino.
I'm currently reading Game of Thrones... and will be for a number of years at this rate!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Welsh 3000s in Snowdonia- walked for 18 hours solid, 34 miles and equivalent to the height of Everest base camp!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach anyone how to make a really good cup of tea!
