Hey! I’m Sara , a 23-year-old from the Netherlands and Germany. I’m a spontaneous and open-minded traveler who loves meeting new people and learning about different cultures.

The outdoors is my happy place, and somehow, I always end up in the mountains when I travel! From hiking through the Himalayas to working as an au pair in Switzerland, to bikepacking through the landscapes of Japan I’ve had my fair share of adventures and love to keep exploring.

Right now, I’m taking a gap year between my bachelor’s and master’s studies. I’m especially passionate about environmental health, politics, and philosophy. I enjoy deep conversations about our planet, global issues, and how people view the world around them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing gives me the chance to connect with people and experience a country through the eyes of those who live there. Locals always know where to get the best food, which mountain trail is worth the hike, and how to experience their city in a real and memorable way. I love sharing ideas, stories, and philosophies, and hearing yours, too. Traveling is about people, and Couchsurfing makes that possible. I am grateful for anyone that wants to share their home with me.
