Duncan and I are both fairly obsessive geeks when it comes to boardgames, with a personal collection of over 200 games. We play board games at every opportunity, and often have friends over to play so you should definitely expect to play a few games while you're here!
I bailed on the demanding world of architecture a couple years ago and am still trying to figure out what I really want to do. I currently fill my time by planning conferences for the shopping centre industry and staffing conferences that come to town. Duncan has a traditional full time office job doing technical support work for the financial sector.
I also organize the Toronto BoardGame and Social Group, a community group with over 2,000 members and multiple events around the city every week.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My introduction to this project consisted of surfing with 4 different hosts in north-eastern US cities during a road trip in Sept. 2009. I had a great time and met so many interesting people that I enjoy re-paying that hospitality whenever I can!
On the unusual occasion that we have spare time that isn't spent playing board games, we both enjoying reading and watching movies. Duncan's geekiness extends to comics, graphic novels and fantasy & sci-fi novels, while my reading material remains fairly mainstream with occasional forays into fantasy novels.

Teach, Learn, Share
I am always happy to teach the boardgames I love to anyone. I do this multiple times each week anyway! There is a wide variety of lengths, complexities and themes available to suit anyone.
These games are a great social activity that can accommodate people from all different backgrounds and abilities while encouraging communication, team work, planning, problem solving and friendly competition.
