About Me

I am almost 70 years young, have been married to the same man for 47 years, mother of three children and two grandchildren. I live on a small farm in a rural area of Massachusetts - Martha's Vineyard is an island off the coast of Massachusetts. It is very peaceful for most of the year , but is extremely busy in the summer months. I have a good sense of adventure, and I love discovering new places and meeting new people. I think I have a very good sense of humor and am the sort of person who is not easily rattled by unexpected events. I think it can add to the fun! Also, I am so far in excellent health and fit and hope to remain so.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think Couchsurfing would be a great way to meet regular people in a country that is new to me, and would be much more interesting that staying in a hotel. The trip I am planning next is to Sweden in the Spring with a friend . We will be going to Uppsala .

Interests

I am very interested in all aspects of different cultures. My greatest passion is for animals - I have a riding horse, two dogs and a cat and can't imagine my life without animals. They fascinate me and are very important to me. I love to ride my horse, walk my dogs, read, knit, sew, cook, garden (vegetables, herbs and flowers) and most of all, travel!! I used to ski a lot but haven't much in the past few years. I love the outdoors and much prefer to be outside rather than in the house. And I'd much rather clean the barn than my house!!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all kinds of music, am a movie buff and especially like independent movies, and historical novels are always my first choice in reading material. I also read a lot about animals as I have a passion for all animal life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on a horseback riding safari in Botswana on the Okavango Delta. It was extraordinary - I saw so much wildlife - just loved it!
