About Me

A year ago, I decided I didn't like the life I was leading, so I quit my job and moved up North where I found a job I could do online. Currently I work online a couple of different gigs, while traveling and seeing incredible sites. I love traveling. I love the physicality of being in a car or bus or boat or train or plane. If I could spend my life traveling, I probably would, and I'm trying to. Currently, I have no set address and therefore cannot host, but I am available for hangouts and couchsurfing. I also housesit quite often on Trusted Housesitters, so though I don't have references here, I do there.

I blog erratically and I work for an awesome online company. We're still pretty small, but working on helping worldschoolers around the world.

Eventually (when I stop traveling) I want to create a school that can help lower income students get a worldclass education. I want to change the world, and I'm starting now by seeing it, and studying different languages and methods of teaching. I just got done visiting Finnland and it was absolutely incredible to see the different methods of education.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm traveling semi-permanently, housesitting and couchsurfing. I don't like staying in hostels or hotels as much because I don't feel like I get to meet people. My favorite parts of traveling are just visiting the town and experiencing the culture and the people and you get that when you actually meet them and stay with them. I want to learn everything.

Music, Movies, and Books

Honestly, I'll read anything if it is well-written and has a good plot. Or even if it doesn't but the writing is good. Favorites include War and Peace, Watership Down, anything by L.M. Montgomery, Dorothy Sayers' mysteries, The Elegance of the Hedgehog, Scarlet Pimpernel. I also love biography and anything interesting. Terry Pratchett is awesome.

Movies: Howl's Moving Castle, LOTR,

TV: Stargate (nerdy, I know), UK TV shows

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This trip. At the end of August, I sold my car, jumped on a plane and started traveling. I've been going for almost two months now and I love it. There are terrifying bits and lovely bits and bits I will remember for my entire life. But my absolutely favorite thing is the people. I love people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English and practice with people. I can talk about books forever. I am an avid thrift store shopper. I love to teach about books and have deep conversations. I'm studying education on my own right now and I love to talk about that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share enthusiasm and a zest for life. I love learning about things and getting to know people, so I will talk alot when I meet people. I am not a partier, but I can explore a city with the best of them.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Jordan, Kenya, Philippines, Turkey, United Kingdom
