About Me

I am studying for a Ph.D. in atmospheric chemistry. I work as a teaching assistant, and I really love helping students. I dance outside of school, many different styles including ballroom and ballet, and I love to teach it to others. I grew up in New England going to the beach, living on an island for several summers, and going camping on the weekends with my family. I moved to Indiana in 2015 to start grad school, and learn about a part of the country that I had limited experience about. I live in one of the larger cities in the state, within an hour from Indianapolis, and two hours from Chicago.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to start of as a host, building connections with people from a lot of places around the world. I want to hear stories about the lives of other people, while hopefully teaching them what I can about my home. I'm always up for weekend trips to explore places nearby, and I love to keep a relatively active lifestyle.

Interests

As I mentioned before I love dancing. I've danced ballroom competitively, go contra and other types of social dancing on a regular basis, and studied ballet for 15 years. I also do yoga and enjoy going for short runs. I am a good cook, and prefer to have people to cook for and eat with. I cook vegetarian, but I know a lot of recipes where you woudnt even notice because they are so yummy.

Music, Movies, and Books

For movies I like a lot except for scary movies. On tv I like a lot of crime shows. For music, I listen to pop, rock, and country mostly, but will delve into other genres plenty. I read almost any fantasy books. My favorite series of all time is the Dresden Files.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This will actually be a list of a few cool things I've done:
I went to Morocco for two months as part of a study abroad.

I worked at a hotel in the Isles of Shoals for three summers.

I spent three years volunteering in an animal behavior lab training bumble bees and monarch butterflies.

Countries I’ve Visited
