About Me
Trying to see and learn as much as I can. Finally joining couch-surfing after 3 years living abroad :)
I moved abroad in 2014 when I left my home and studies in suburban Houston for the life bucolic in rural Georgia (the country). Spent two years in a couple different farming villages, learning the language (ქართული) and developing preferences for the regional wines (Tsinandali, forever and always.) Now I'm living and working in the capital, Tbilisi. I've acquired many friends along the way - all goodnatured, easygoing companions who occasionally like to travel with me and amuse our hosts.
My passions include food (making and eating it), being a feminist kill-joy, drinking white wine, and discussing all kinds of stellar opinions. There's very little I'm not interested in or unwilling to try. And like most people here, I'm looking for travel experiences outside the mainstream that let me connect with a culture at the local and personal level. I'm an uncomplicated guest, eager to hear what you have to share about your life, your locale, and your experiences. I don't require much other than a place to sleep and friendly company.
Unfortunately, my circumstances right now don't allow me to frequently host people in my flat, but I'm more than happy to meet up with anyone who's passing through Tbilisi. I have a relatively loose work schedule and a good command of the Georgian language. It would delight me to show you around, feed you Georgian food, take an excursion out of the city, or help you find the perfect bottle of wine!
