About Me

Hello everyone! I'm Sarah, and I'm an art history student who loves to travel! This summer, I'm road tripping through Wisconsin and Michigan with two friends, and we're looking for places to stay and people to meet. I was in London two years ago on study abroad but I returned for the summer working an internship in a medieval art gallery, and I’ve spent lengths of time in both Italy and France. I love to hike and be in nature, and I enjoy seeing and painting beautiful things. My simple pleasures include buying stinky cheese, reading on public transport, sitting against the trunks of trees, and meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Excited to meet new people! I've done homestays of all sorts abroad and they've been some of the most fulfilling experiences for me. After my first Couchsurf near Biarritz in France, I found some wonderful friends and I would love to pay their kindness forward as a host sometime! I've done a few stays on both CS and BeWelcome and want to really become a part of this community.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- indie/rock/folk combo with little trap rap and jazz and country offshoots that came from who-knows-where.
Movies- historical dramas (oops)- think English Patient, 1918, etc.
Books- I mostly read art history books and cookbooks (LOLL) but I love good classic/historical lit. Rebecca and The Nightingale are two of my favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Three summers ago, I lived in the South of France doing an independent research project on medieval graffiti in a huge palace. I had to walk around in socks because the floor was so delicate. Accidentally got lapis lazuli under my fingernail at one point.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching bits of French and spouting random art history facts!

If you host me, I will probably bring home cheese at some point (to share, of course).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Consider: Ottolenghi's repertoire (I can make a meannn mezze spread). I also love sharing stories, laughs, and pint(s)....I have many fond memories talking with people on my travels and learning so much.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, England, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, Vatican City State, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In

England, France, Italy, United States
