About Me
*** I am on my holidays in China - can't accept guests for the next few weeks**
CURRENT MISSION
Make the most of the time we have: experience everything we can.
ABOUT ME
I am an open, outgoing person. I am an engineer, so I have a store of slightly geeky jokes and lots of my anecdotes that aren't about my travels revolve around engines or cars. I have to spend a lot of my time chained to a computer, so when I have free time I like to make the most of it. I am an easy-going person who's ready to try just about anything once and like to swap stories with people if they have been and done things I haven't.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in Karma, and I believe that Karma is currency. I try to live my life without waste. I operate on the belief that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover and you should try everything at least once.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have couchsurfed a bit round Europe, it was great!
I have had a couple of people stay for a few days each; helped one settle in as an exchange student at the local uni,the others have been tourists moving up and down the country.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Both hosted and have been hosted a few times now.
PLEASE READ MY COUCH SECTION BEFORE APPLYING.
I can no longer host all the time, owing to my work, please read up on the situation to see if it suits you and your journey.
Interests
I have many interests; I like music (just about any genre, but most of my collection is rock, ska and punk) and films and cooking (think enthusiastic amature rather than accomplished chef); I like walking and hiking when I can, particularly if there is a chance to dive down a cave or get muddy! I enjoy walking round cities looking at the architecture and people watching as much as I enjoy walking through the countryside. I am also into motorsports, steampunk, reptile keeping and cinema as well.
Here's a little something funny for making it this far down the page: http://imgur.com/gallery/OZTXxYg

Teach, Learn, Share
Share: Loads of music and films to watch/listen to, and there's usually more than enough food about for an extra person.
Teach:
I'm very good at written and spoken English if you need something translating, I know some fun card games too!
I've also had dreadlocks for a few years now, if you have some too, we can compare notes on keeping them nice and tidy.
Learn:
any language skills, mine are pretty poor. Plus any cool recipes/dance moves/rude jokes (they always go down well in the pub!)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Local knowledge, good food and some good stories. If you are visiting the area to look at the uni, I can help as I'm a part-time student there.
