Overview
About Me
Work-wise, I am an academic, working in medical research, specifically in the fields of neuroscience and psychiatry.
I love travelling, meeting people locally, and doing fun activities preferably in nature. I find that people are often so relaxed and at peace when out in nature, and that is often the best way to spend time together and appreciate where we are together.
I feel at home in the desert, forests, and mountains, whether it is camping, hiking, or driving through.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I used couchsurfing previously many years ago and met some amazing people and got to share in real activities that they brought me along to, such as partner yoga in the park in a sunny Netherlands!
Through this app I really hope to meet like minded people (and even people with different opinion too!), and get to see the real lives of locals, instead of treading the well-worn tourist paths.
I hope to be a good representative of my home country too, and hopefully my hosts will visit me one day in South Africa!
Interests
I love being active and working out. I also love adventurous travel, and wild camping in nature.
Currently I'm trying to get better at calisthenics and also do some aesthetic bodybuilding, and I previously competed in powelifting and CrossFit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just summited Kilimanjaro last month which was incredible.
I also moved country a few times by myself with no real plans. Scary, but always worth it. Things always work out.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love showing people around my beautiful hometown, Cape Town. There are so many fun things to do like surfing, hiking, cycling, and visiting wine farms.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can take people on hikes and surfing at my local beaches and mountains (of which there are many in Cape Town!)
