Sobre mí

In April 2017, I acquired a degree in Industrial Relations at Laval University, Quebec, Canada but felt that there was something more that was awaiting me before integrating the labor market. I was not ready yet.

Soooo, in October 2017, I decided to leave home and everything that I knew for the unknown, for the most beautiful and fulfilling journey of my life in Asia, that is, for a undetermined period of time.

So here I am: 23 months in, and still no return ticket to head back home. I couldn’t be more grateful for everything that happened to me and the inspiring people I’ve met. I just want to keep on expanding and deepening my understanding of the beautiful world we live in and thus, make deep and significant connections with people who are crossing my path.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I have travelled a lot in the past in hostels but I feel like Couchsurfing could bring me more of what I am currently looking for.

I realized that traveling is more about the people you meet than the places you go.

Indeed, I don’t think there is a better way to have a proper insight of the culture of a country than living like/with a local, eating like a local, sleeping like a local.

Música, películas y libros

Movies:
In the past months, I’ve discovered a great interest for documentaries. I used to always associate those kind of films as being boring and long but actually, you can learn so much from it. It also convinced me to modify my diet in a more sustainable way for me, the animals, the environnement and the future generations.

Here is my top 5 recommendations on Netflix:

-A Plastic Ocean
-What the Health
-Cowspiracy
-The True Cost
-The 13

I would be keen to recommend you some more, to discuss about it or even watch some with you.

Books:
Usually I tend to read books that I find in hostels, as easy as that haha.
However, the books I prefer reading are the ones that are meant for self-development, that are meant to make you realize different concepts directly or through an analogy. I find it so inspiring and often life changing.

Here is my top 3 books:

Celestine Prophecy, James Reidfield
The Alchemist, Paulo Cohelo
The 7 Habbits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey

On my list (for now):

Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind, Yuval Noah Harari
The 80/20 Principle, Richard Koch

James Reidfield and Paulo Cohelo’s Books

I remain very open for new suggestions!

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Teaching:
I am not sure what I could teach you since I don’t have perticular skills, but I truly believe we could figure something out haha.

Learning:
I have always wished to develop my creative side, indeed, I have always been interested in learning how to play guitar/ukulele/guitalele. I would be so keen to learn some chords.

Since I really love cooking, I would be pleased to learn how to cook local dishes.

Sharing:
I would be happy to share long, deep and significant conversations about our different point of views towards different topics to learn more about each other’s culture, interests, values, philosophies, life journey and experiences.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I really love cooking. To me, it is a way to connect with people, to share a beautiful moment over the fulfillment of a basic need and thus, get to know a culture through its flavours.

I would be more than happy to cook something to thank you for hosting me.
