Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To experience the world and the people in it.
ABOUT ME
I'm a strong, outgoing & creative girl. I work as a florist and I love it! I can be a bit self-deprecating, but I am confident in my abilities and strengths.
PHILOSOPHY
I've realized that showing kindness to others at any opportunity is the best way of life, so if I think of something good to do for another person, (friend, stranger, etc.) and it's within my power to do it... I have to do it. It's my rule.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE
I was so blessed to find the couchsurfing community a couple years ago during a transition phase of life. I'd moved halfway across the country with just a backpack, and the strangers turned friends that I found here received me with open arms. Now I have a modest home, and I'm ready to return the favor.
Interests
I love live music, art exhibits, the outdoors and working out. I am a slow runner - comparable to a herd of turtles stampeding through peanut butter, but I've had fun running a couple of distance races. I'm an extrovert, so I enjoy being with people. Conversation is always welcome, but is best if it's not constant.
Music, Movies, and Books
I have very eclectic taste in entertainment... I love old movies like Roman Holiday, Mary Poppins & The Sound of Music, but I also enjoy comedies like Yes Man, Romantic movies, anything but horror.
Music - I'm all over the map. Allison Krauss, Bright Eyes, Eminem, Weezer & Lady Gaga are all on my list.
Books - well I'll be honest. I kind of read like a teenage girl. Hunger Games, Divergent - you get the idea.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's a two way tie for me. The first moment that stands out in my mind is from my honeymoon in Maui. We'd searched all morning for a sea turtle in an area known for them without seeing anything, but moments before we turned back, I caught a glimpse of one. I waved for my husband to join me and then followed as an amazing large sea turtle slowly swam ahead of me. It felt like he was just letting me enjoy the moment. It was only a few short moments, but the feeling was unlike anything else.
The other moment that I'll never forget was floating in the air in a hot air balloon. I surprised my husband with the trip. It was our first anniversary, and I wanted to do something special. Lifting off the ground is so strange, but it wasn't until we were high over the city that it really sank in. Early in the morning the town was quiet, but people would come out of their homes in their slippers and point us out to their children. Moving at the same speed in the same direction as the wind made it seem like the whole world was still. That was an amazing moment.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach - lots of silly domestic things... Embroidery, flower arranging, how to make a great pot roast.
I'd love to learn - about what you are passionate about!
I can share - my home and my heart. Please be gentle with both.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a decent cook, and I can accommodate your dietary restrictions / beliefs. I also always change the TP roll and am happy to help out with chores or errands.
