About Me
Hi! I'm Sarah. I really hate filling out these little blurbs, because there is never the right amount of space to fully present oneself. I guess you will just have to meet me to find out what I am all about :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm somewhat new to CS, and, to be honest, at first I thought it was all about travelling and not paying for accommodation. Since my first CS experiences staying in people's homes and participating in events, I have discovered that it is about much, MUCH more than that!
This may sound cliché, but it's the truth: I'm on CS to meet like minded travellers and to be inspired by them. Travel stories are my favourite ones, and I love hearing and sharing them with others.
Interests
Traveling! Travelling! Travelling! For the food! And the people! And the sights! And the smells! And just to feel like a child again! Oh, how I love to discover new things.
I also love to cook, so please come and share some recipes with me!
I love anything to do with outdoors -- climbing, hiking, swimming, gardening, you name it.

Music, Movies, and Books
At the moment my go-to music is Penguin Café Orchestra, Vulfpeck, Zeki Müren, Timber Timbre, Air, and Buena Vista Social Club. So... a bit varied.
If I could be any movie character I would choose Amélie Poulain. The kind of comedy from In Bruges and Hot Fuzz has me splitting my sides with laughter :)
If you don't usually read poetry, a book that will change your mind is Brown Girl Dreaming. My favourite travel guide is the 111 Places series. I would reread The Opposite of Loneliness a million times over. As a child I couldn't put down The Doll People.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was incredibly impressed with myself when the sounds from German turned from being a lot of nonsense to a comprehensible language. I want to continue doing that with all the languages of the world!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to french braid your hair and make a super red lentil coconut curry if you like.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Wait... isn't this the same as the question above? Well, I suppose that there are more things I can share. For example, while living in France I realized how easy it is to make tarts. I can share a delicious savoury tart with you! Yum
