About Me
I live in New York City now 🗽
Short version:
- Austrian girl that lives anywhere but in Austria (currently in NYC)
- student of Cultural Studies
- I'm very sarcastic
- bubbly - sometimes too bubbly :D
- Interests we might have in common: Salsa/ Bachata dancing, arts, history, politics, feminism, books and yoga
- Interests we definitely have in common: travelling, languages, Couchsurfing
Long version starting here (good luck with that) :
I'd call myself pretty spontaneous. I don't like planning, and I'm always up for new adventures!
My greatest passion is dance. I love Salsa and Bachata - I am training to become a professional dancer. You’ll probably see me dancing everywhere, from the kitchen to the supermarket aisle 😄
I generally love arts. My happy place are museums, opera houses and galleries. It basically is my way of meditating.
I also love reading, especially about feminism, history or politics, so if you have book recommendations bring 'em on!
.
Also, you should know that I'm pretty sarcastic (and I'm still amazed by how many people don't get it)
Just don't take everything I'm saying seriously, and we'll get along, promise :-)
I love getting lost in a city, going to places with more than just tourists and selfie sticks (no offence if you have one, I'm sure your Instagram feed is great)
I think you can learn something from every single person you meet in life - so I like listening to people and their stories (when I'm not busy with sharing mine ['cause apparently I talk a lot])
.
One VERY IMPORTANT thing for me, whether you'll host me or I'll be hosting you, is 100% honesty.
As much as I'm trying, I haven't figured out how to read minds yet, and until I do so, open communication is the key.

for surfers:
If you're looking for a "secret password" you can stop here, 'cause I don't do them.
Feel free to copy and paste your request, tell me about your favourite animal or the last meal you had - go crazy
No reason to desperately look for something we have in common :D
Free hotel or new friend, I'm up for anything.
I can't promise to always be the perfect host/ tour guide/ entertainer, but I see what I can do :-)
Just one little thing: please don't send me requests more than 1 week in advance seriously, I don't even know what I'm gonna do tomorrow. Take it easy, life is the best when nothing is planned.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Don't get why people should pay for sleeping.

I could say, that I travelled through Latin America for 10 months, but I also once opened a wine bottle with a shoe. Not sure which one is more impressive.
Teach, Learn, Share
Loads of wisdom about my country
- Austria, not Australia (nope, no kangoroos)
- We speak German (no Austrian is not a language)
- No, I'm not from Vienna (yes, there are other cities in my country)
- No, we don't have beaches (still not Australia)
- No, Germany is not the same thing
- No, I can't yodle
In case you knew all these things - amazing, you're officially the minority.
If you didn't, don't worry, I once asked a Brazilian guy if he could teach me some Spanish. Shit Happens.
