About Me

About me? Well, I'm and Aussie girl who was born in the country, but in my time I have moved around South East Queensland, lived and worked on a boat sailing the Whitsundays and travelled a little overseas (22 countries and counting).
I am currently living in my hometown of St George in South West QLD and am working at the high school, which I attended some years ago, as a teacher aide.
I have itchy feet again and am hoping to make my ultimate journey a reality; Singapore to South Africa only using Land and Sea travel.. (With a few unavoidable exceptions, for example, South Korea and Taiwan). I don't plan to embark on this journey until December 2016 so that gives me a year to save and piece together a rough itinerary.
I am open to hosting couch surfers who may want to come out to St George as a gateway to the real outback, however if you have any suggestions that may assist my journey or even want to host me along the way, then please don't hesitate in contacting me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will have a limited budget on my epic journey, but also want to embrace living like a local and experiencing adventures that don't feature in your latest 'Lonely Planet'.

Interests

I have a very open interest in many things, but the thing I love most of all is a very honest, worldly conversation with happy-go-lucky people like myself.

  • education
  • boating
  • traveling
  • sailing
  • teaching
  • volunteering

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

two volunteer projects I worked on during my last trip was working in a Kindergarten in Ethiopia which taught me so much about non-verbal communication and made me appreciate (As cliché as it sounds) what I do and don't have in my life. I also lived on an Island off the mainland of Cambodia in the South China Sea working on a Seahorse Conservation Project.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am studying to be a highschool teacher Majoring in health & physical education and minoring in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Studies. They are vastly different subjects from each other, however, I have a keen interest for how the body works as well as I really want to know the deep dark secrets of the sunburned country of which I was born to.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Botswana, Cambodia, England, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Lesotho, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Viet Nam, Zimbabwe
