Overview
About Me
Hello hello, my name is Sarah, I am a German-American girl who grew up bilingually in Munich, Germany (home of the famous Oktoberfest, which I LOVE). I now live and study in Freiburg, a town in the South of Germany. I am a passionate foodie, former horse acrobat and horseback rider and currently an undergraduate student curious about the life sciences and fascinated by questions regarding public and global health issues. I love going out with my friends, exercising and reading novels. When I am not abroad, attending supercool festivals or busy doing other fun activities, I relish relaxing at home and enjoy cooking, baking and sewing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In the past few years I have been traveling quite a lot. During high school I spent a year in Chile, past semester I studied at the National University of Singapore. I noticed that I appreciated those trips most where I was able to meet and connect to local people. It is a great experience to really get to know everyday life in the locations that I visit. Also, I would love to meet new people and build new friendships. To give back to this community, I am also happy to host travelers here in Freiburg.
Music, Movies, and Books
With regard to books, I enjoy fiction and fantasy the most. Currently, I enjoy reading Khaled Hosseini, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Edward Wells, Jojo Moyes, and Alice Walker.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, up to three years ago I was able to do a handstand and a cartwheel on a galloping horse. Also, I moved away from home the first time at age 15 to learn Spanish in Chile.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Lots of laughter and weird humor, cooking and baking skills, traveling tips and stories, very deep thoughts (duh), and photos of me doing handstands in public places.
