About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Plan a super fun trip to Peru before diving into graduate studies. Let's go!

ABOUT ME

My name is Sarah and I grew up in Florida, USA. I love traveling and I am kind of a science nerd. I am about to start graduate school in Atlanta, Georgia, USA so I will be moving from Florida soon. Before moving I am planning a trip to Peru that I'm really looking forward to.

PHILOSOPHY

I feel like everything in the world is karmically connected, not limited to just people and the environment, but everything even within our own individual lives. Each experience we have, every thing we learn, all the moments - happy or sad - are intertwined and for a purpose. I like the symbol of the Tibetan endless knot because I feel it beautifully encompasses this concept. We may be heading towards a certain goal, but the road is often twisted and crisscrossing before we reach our final destination.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like exchanging stories, language, recipes, and culture. I'm not really in a position to host at the moment, but I would be glad to recommend local activities. I enjoy surfing while traveling and also attending various CS meetups when visiting new places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only had the best couch surfing experiences! It was always a really great time and I got along really well with my hosts, with whom I hope to stay friends with and keep in touch with for a really long time. I think it's a marvelous idea and I love all of the events to meet other couchsurfers!

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch too many movies, but that's not to say that I don't like them. I don't like scary movies, and action sometimes can lose my attention, so I prefer funny or romantic movies--- I know, I know. But I never cry during movies. Music: I like pretty much anything, especially live music or something I can dance to! I enjoy reading, mainly fiction, but I need to make more time to read for pleasure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent three months on an internship in Japan traveling with this group of 9 people all around every weekend. Working during the week, and traveling on the weekend. It was a crazy good time and I just loved being around such a diverse group of people, yet we still had things in common. We got very close after traveling together so much.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can crochet and I would love to teach people; I also want to learn how to knit. I can make jewelry too, mostly beading, and do other crafty/creative things. I'm pretty awful at drawing and painting, but I still think it's fun.
I really like exchanging recipes and teaching/learning how to cook and bake new things. yumm!
If you teach dance, I love learning new styles.
And of course if anyone wants to practice their English I would be delighted to help :)
