About Me

I hate Donald J. Trump.

CURRENT MISSION

Head a happy, healthy family

ABOUT ME

I'm a married IT consultant, having recently left the topsy-turvy world of academia. I love to travel and help travelers in my neck of the woods discover the hidden treasures. We are a friendly, outgoing couple and love to host people in our home. We have been vegan since 2013, trying to reduce our negative impact on the planet as much as we can. Our favorite hobby is bird-watching. We try to see as much of the local nature, especially the local birds, as we can when we visit new places. I'd be totally stoked to have couch-surfers to whom I could show off our local birds, so don't be afraid to ask us to take you on a small birding excursion.

PHILOSOPHY

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. (PS: I'm atheist.)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We find that hosting people makes life more colorful and enjoyable. We have periods where hosting is good for us and other periods where too much is going on. Sometimes we invite people to stay with us when we are gone in order to keep the cat company. I find that many travelers just enjoy having the house to themselves and can recharge their batteries by being alone for a while.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We just love hosting people! As soon as the CS-ers arrive, it's like having instant sunshine in the house. I loved staying with people who live in the country. If you request a couch at the last minute, we'll probably say no. That's because we usually have a life jam-packed with projects that one more unexpected event is likely to be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Interests

I like to cook, knit, read, do yoga, and most of all BIRD WATCH. I'm very interested in animal welfare and preserving nature. I'm trying to integrate this interest more fundamentally into my life, hence we're vegan.
