About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn about the world, it's people, and history - and in the process learn about myself. To have amazing experiences as well as enjoy simple pleasures. Most importantly to be happy.

ABOUT ME

I am dabbler with lots of interests who never gets quite proficient at any one discipline. And furthermore I have no idea what I want to do with my life. From ceramics to watercolors, I've tried my hand at various arts forms, but I'm far from being a true artist. I recently picked up the ukelele which I'm loving!

I grew up in a military family and we moved around every 1-3 years. I think that is partly how I got my itch to wander. I love exploring. I studied nutrition in school and science of all forms is also fascinating to me. Particularly the human body, physics, and the cosmos. As much as I love the pursuit of knowledge, I also really enjoy being outside (particularly hiking and swimming) and having a fun night out (give me a gin & tonic and a dance floor and I'm a happy girl).

Right now I'm a full-time traveler and it's been the most amazing time of my life!

PHILOSOPHY

Once heard the idea on an NPR program that the universe evolved human beings so it would have someone to appreciate how miraculous it is. I've always liked that thought.

Music, Movies, and Books

I switch around from non-fiction to literature to poetry to keep my reading life full of variety. If I had to pick I'd say my current favorite author is Willla Cather. My favorite movies are Wes Anderson films, period pieces and anything with that slice-of-life feeling. For music - I like a wide range of stuff, but generally lean towards singer/songwriter types (Ingrid Michaelson, Coldplay, etc), post-rock (Sigur Ros, This Will Destroy You), electronic (Porter Robinson, Seven Lions, and many), and a bit of jazz (Madeleine Peyroux).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think one of the most amazing experiences I've had was eating a meal prepared entirely from food produced on a small family farm in Northern India. From the vegetables, to the milk, to the rice, to the wheat for the chapati. Cooked for us by the farmer himself. It was amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd probably be most able to share my cookery skills. I also recently studied yoga in India and am now a certified instructor. I would LOVE to improve my language abilities.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can always cook you a good meal, give you a yoga lesson, or simply be a conversation partner!
