ABOUT ME

WE ARE AWAY TRAVELLING AT THE MOMENT

I am 32 years old and currently live in bristol, UK. I have been planning to go away travelling with my boyfriend for about 10 years and we are finally doing it! I work in public and participatory arts and have worked in various places around the Uk. I also teach art history and visual culture at a university and write articles for art websites and galleries. My partner, Gareth is a chef and has worked in restaurants for over 10 years.

PHILOSOPHY

if you open your mind to new things, new opportunities start to arise.
We all have a responsibility to be open, non judgmental and caring towards others - who knows when we might need support from someone else.

This is our first experience of couch surfing but will be really keen to offer accommodation to other surfers once we are back from our travels

Films- Fight Club, Memento, the Machinist, all by Shane Meadows, Almodovar, Life of Brian, Groundhog Day, Betty Blue, Jean de Florette, Star Wars (recently re watched), Flight of the Navigator and lots and lots more.

Music - Bob Marley, Beatles, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Massive Attack, Leftfield, Tricky, Stone Roses, Happy Monday, Oasis, blur, New Order, the Strokes, Daft punk,Death in Vegas, Mercury Rev, the Clash, The Specials plus lots of other dub, ska, Reggae, indie and rock. I also like jazz, blues and classical though I don't listen enough.
Books - autobiographies and true stories, Margaret Atwood , Gonnanna Tart, Zadie Smith, George Orwell, the beat writers, Charles Dickens, only recently Game of Thrones, much to ny boyfriends pleasure. Non fiction - Roland Barthes, Nicholas Bourriaud, Suzanne Lacy, Henri le Febvre, Guy Deborah, Hal Foster, Jurgen Habermas, Henri de Certeau
