ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Sarah Lewis and I am a recent graduate in Psychology from Brown University. I graduated with the sense that not everything that should be learned can be learned in college, and have decided to take the discovery and understanding of life into my own hands :). I spent three months in Europe in the fall, and was very moved by the people that I met and experiences I had. Circumstances have me returning to Europe again this spring, and I intend to continue this journey, form new relationships, and hopefully pick up a few more skills along the way.
PHILOSOPHY
I suppose this is what I am on a journey to find out =).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I don't really have a home at the moment.... so I can't host (yet!) but I plan on being an engaged and engaging surfer.

Interests
Personal connection is what most fulfills me, I'd say. When I feel like I've come to a more-than-verbal understanding of a person and his or her family, situation, relationship, etc. I really enjoy that. I was a psychology major for a reason I suppose =). Nature. The color of things. The smell of changing seasons. Impressive, unconventional art. Unexpected kindness.

Music, Movies, and Books
It's always the last thing I read or listened to =). I've been reading a lot of Krishnamurti recently. I read Everything is Illuminated and loved it. I also enjoyed 50 Shades of Gray. That probably just reduced my hosting chances by half, but I am not ashamed =)! Loved Death of a Salesman. And then the oldies and goodies: Perks of Being a Wallflower, the Golden Compass trilogy...and many others that I can't think of. Music I enjoy finding to fit my mood. I've been drawing on Florence and the Machine, the Shins, Fleetfoxes, anything from the Forrest Gump soundtrack, Sinatra and romance from the 50s, Eric Whitacre, and a capella folk songs. Movies can also be good.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One moment would be the time that I was riding the motorcycle I used to own and I was attempting to find a seaside restaurant at which to have breakfast. My bike was the lowest of the techs, it didn't even have a gas gauge, and so I would have to memorize a map each time I stopped and then hope that I could follow it while riding. I never could (and still can't, I'm horrible with directions), and would often just have to make decisions using my best guess. During this one trip, I was rounding a middle-of-somewhere-probably corner, and all of a sudden found myself crossing a two lane bridge connecting two costal New England towns illuminated in the midday sun. The sheer unexpectedness of it took my breath away. A second would be falling in love. A third, the moment just after completing the Scala Sancta in Rome.
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't realize I have a skill until I see it on someone else's profile. It's so easy to take what we can do for granted =). But ask and I may be able to do it! I dabble in much and specialize so far in nothing.
