Almost done with my training/school. Almost done with Erie! I need a break from the snow. I'm a molecular virologist, among other things. I consider myself a social justice advocate, something a teacher put in my head years ago and it stuck. She annoyed the crap out of me and I miss her dearly. Once I'm unstuck, I will be mobile and grateful for couches.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Not sure. I have tons of friends who do it. My cousin loves it. My roommates in NY used to host peeps. If someone gets stuck in Erie...I have super friendly pets and a long soft couch.

Death at a funeral. The british one. I literally broke a rib or two in the theatre and might have vomited a bit from laughing so hard. The American one is good too. Just never understood whey they remake perfectly good European movies. So silly.

Watch Dicte...the first season is on netflix. They are filming the next.

It's Danish. I made the tragic mistake of watching a show with only one season available. I'm super pissed off. I wait.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I figured out the direct molecular interaction between an HIV protein and the HCV virus that causes it to basically go bizzerk. HIV/HCV coinfection was the leading cause of death for those with HIV in the US (they now have a cure for HCV). But, the important part of my work is the association with cancer. I show on a molecular level how HIV causes other less oncogenic viruses to become very cancerous...really cool stuff. It could lead to novel treatments. Miles away, but totally new idea.

And I climbed Kilimanjaro.
