ABOUT ME

I'm a hard worker. I'm working on my doctorate in early American literature and love what I do, so I take seriously and devote a lot of my time to it. I wish there were more hours in the day to work on it, actually. My friends would also say that I'm a very caring, generous person but also sassy and funny.

Interests

Honestly, I spend a lot of my time reading, researching, and writing--all work for my dissertation. When I'm not working, I try to spend as much time as I can with my musician husband and our dogs (2) and cats (4). My husband, Erik, and I have been married for almost 9 years and have known each other for something like 15. I have some really wonderful friends that I don't get to see enough. I treat myself with some bad reality tv and online shopping for clothes and things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I find myself being awestruck by simple things that have great weight or significance.
For instance, I absolutely love London and spent some time there most recently in September. While there, I adored walking in Hyde Park--the blend of people, activities, the beautiful landscape, and the history of it stays with me still.
I'm often awestruck by ideas or words when I'm reading. Recently, I was reading the letters of John and Abigail Adams and was so moved by their emotion--that's the kind of thing.
