About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm a 25 year old from Galway, a wonderful town on the west coast of Ireland. I came to the U.S. to study abroad 4 years ago and have been pulled back here ever since. Once I finished my degree in Ireland, I chose to explore for a bit so I moved to Boston by myself. Here, I waitressed and laughed my way through the year while meeting some of the best people who I now call my best friends.
After that, I spent some time working in London UK before finding myself floating back to the U.S., this time to the concrete jungle that is NYC. I've been here less than a year so I am still very much a tourist in the city - it's great that there's so much here to do! I've visited about half of the U.S. states so far, and excited to travel around many more in the close future.
I'm lucky to have a family who opened my eyes to the world of travel when I was younger - we swapped houses with families in the US and Europe instead of the regular tourist package holiday, and we always had a much better time getting to know how these people actually lived, from reading the local newspaper that was delivered each morning, to seeing the types of food they eat.
I am interested in much and many things, with particular respect to food that I shouldn't eat and purchasing flights that I can't afford, but life's short ya feel me?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm using Couchsurfing as a way to learn. For me, travelling isn't about staying in a hotel room in the city center of the major cities of the world - it's about seeing, listening and understanding how people live in different cultures to my own. I am curious about so many things I don't know where to begin, so learning something new from someone or hearing a different perspective on things is what entices me to couchsurf!

Music, Movies, and Books
I have read many biographies, from Valentino Rossi to Lance Armstrong to Maya Angelou. I also love to read fiction including Shantaram, Little Princes, Three Cups of Tea and many many more. The last book I read was Marching Powder, and I highly recommend it to everyone and anyone. Anything that sparks questions and forces me to think for myself will interest me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Decided to go on a random trip with a stranger (I served him drinks at my work one night and we got talking about travels!). Drove with him in his RV from New Orleans through Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada. Having a little faith and trusting in a stranger was one of the best things I ever did.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am travelling the U.S. for one year so can unfortunately not host too many guests at the moment, until I return to Ireland, and who knows when that will be.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach you how to speak some Gaeilge (Ireland's native language), surely that's more than enough :)
