About Me

Hello people!

My name is Sarah, I am 23 years old and currently I'm living in the beautiful city of Graz where I'm studying Transcultural Communication. Now that I've moved out and live in an own flat I am finally able to host people myself, which is amazing. :)

I started couchsurfing when I was travelling during my voluntary service abroad some years ago and since then I'm a huge fan of the concept and I'm happy that I will be able to give something back after having had so many great hosts already.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to see the world and as many awesome/exciting/beautiful places as I possibly can. And I believe the best way to do so is by getting some help from locals to show you what's best to see and where to go to.

Also, I hope to meet cool people and make friends with which I could possibly stay in contact after staying with them or which I also could host in my hometown one day.

Interests

I'm really interested in different ways of living in different countries and in foreign languages. When I travel, I try to experience the culture of the place I'm visiting, food, people, language etc.
I really enjoy spending time outside either having walks in the countryside or getting lost in cities.
Other hobbies of mine are reading, visiting arts museums, music festivals and generally listening to good music or spending a chilled evening with good friends and a bottle of wine.

Also, I love animals (even though I'm slightly allergic to cats and dogs) and don't mind staying at places of pet owners. In fact, I prefer doing so! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I mostly listen to punk rock, alternative rock, sometimes ska or reggae, depending on my mood. But I am open to most genres of music.

Reading is one of my favourite leisure activities and I usually have far more books lying next to my bed than I could ever possibly read. Currently I am reading A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess and The Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy by Douglas Adams and I love both of them. Some of my all time favourites are The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Animal Farm by George Orwell.

My favourite movies are those of the kind that leaves you with something to think about. I love Tim Burton's movies, especially Big Fish (it's probably my favourite), and most movies that have some bizarre or fantastic elements.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitch-hiking in the UK for the first time with a friend of mine. The distance was very short and it took us a ridiculously long time and three different cars to get to our destination but it was an unforgettable adventure and a lot of fun.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a humorous person who loves to laugh. When meeting other people I wish to communicate well with them so we can have a good time together. :)

Countries I’ve Visited
