About Me

Hi!

So a bit about me......well.....

My best friends would say I am chatty, analytical, kind and a bit quirky! I am at present spending my time living in London and massively enjoying all it has to offer!

I recently decided to make some big changes in my life. I've always felt that life is for living and came to the realisation that I have become somewhat shackled by the social expectations of 'normal' life! I got a job, I got the career, I got a house and had a whole lot of stability and than realised that this was everything I did not want!!! This to me was not living! So the past 2 1/2 years I have become quite transient and at 35 I've decided to make some serious changes! I'm currently frantically saving so I can quit my job/career and travel the world, where, I intend to embrace everything that comes my way! Time to do some of that living, right? So this is what really brings me to couch surfing (despite me having an inactive account since 2014!).

Ok so that was a little deep but I am also fun too, I promise!

I hope to meet some lovely people along the way, who I hope will enhance my travel experience if not share it. I also hope I can cheekily steal not just a space on your couch but your local knowledge too!

Happy traveling hey!

Sarah

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couch surfing to assist in the traveling I plan to do, especially as I will need to keep within a tight budget, eek! I am therefore hoping couch surfing will help with this.

As I have ready mentioned I love meeting new people and feel that this may be a great way to enhance my traveling journey. I hope through my hosts, I will gain knowledge and a more local and genuine experience.

I sadly cannot host people at present as I am temporarily living in my sister's home while I save to travel, however, I am more the happy to show people around London if you fancy hanging out with a local!

Interests

Besides making significant life changing decisions, I really love getting to know people, human connection is pretty cool! I also love to travel, experience new things and feel free! I am very passionate about photography and feel creativity and connection through this.I run and like to walk to keep myself fit and massively enjoy cooking and eating food, oh and drinking coffee! I really love drinking coffee!

Music, Movies, and Books

I would say when it comes to music I am pretty open . I am someone who is definitely connected to how music can make you feel and will regularly find myself saying 'I love this song!' in the right moment, even when 5 minutes before I may have not!

I might have some closet 'naff' music, but I'll perhaps let you learn about this when we meet, it's simply too shaming to reveal here!

I am dyslexic so I wouldn't say I am a massive reader, it really does take me a long time!!! Although trying to improve on this. However, currently I am reading 2 photography books by Henry Carroll, nice and simple but to the point. I'm hoping they will help develop my skills and push my creativity :)

As for movies, I'm fairly laid back, although would say I favour the more serious kind of film with those more profound messages. I really appreciate good cinematography The last thing I watched that I really liked was 'Manchester by the sea'.

As for TV it's Games of Thrones all the way!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ooooh great question.....I may have to tackle this with subcategories!

Personally:

Completing my social work degree while working full time, hardest 3 years of my life, but I did it! Also overcoming personal barriers that were holding me back :)

Physically:

Trekking through the jungle in Northern Thailand for 3 days, mopeding in Phong Nha Ke Bang national Park in Viet Nam, experiencing the breath-taking scenery of the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, skydiving and also running consistently for 8 miles (I know others could run more but this was pretty good for me!), these all made me feel immense and man the adrenaline is excellent!

Emotional:

Having so many amazing friends who travel in different ways through life with me :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I hope I can learn from you and you from me. I believe we all have something to share and others something to teach us!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very happy to share my time, whether that be simply hanging out together, exploring locally or taking you out for coffee. For those who are keen I am also very happy to prepare and cook meal to share with you :)
